Jason Thought
Why is it that the closer I feel to God, the further I feel from church? I read the Bible and find wonderful, amazing occurences; yet I find nothing like this at church. I talk to God and feel peace and love and joy and excitement; I go to church and don't. Is it me? Am I expecting too much from church? Am I the problem? For that matter, am I the answer?

Jason Thought:
Why are so many Christians caught off guard so dramatically by events on this earth? Christ was not and we have his spirit. There are a few things I believe cause this to happen, and one of those is unrealistic expectations of life here on this planet. I am not one of those people who thinks that every day here on earth is a struggle; nor do I think every day is a visit to Sesame Street. I expect circumstances to change. Do others expect things to stay the same forever? Are Christians supposed to be even-keeled? Or am I just looking at the whole thing wrong?

Jason Thought:
Once you are shifted, you begin finding spiritual meaning in seemingly unlikely places. I was listening to Radney Foster sing a Jace Everett song and heard this line:
"And if I had it all to do over
I'd probably win and lose just as much
Spend less time on right and wrong and a lot more time on love".
That last part screamed to me the difference between religion and spirituality. Jesus spent more time on love than right and wrong. Do you? I may need to shift a little more.

Jason Thought:
"Freedom Isn't Free". That is a true statement. We hear it in this country every year about this time. However it is not only true for our nation, but for our souls. Salvation was not free either. Jesus had to die for it. I have my earthly freedom due to the men and women who shed blood in the name of the USA. I have my eternal freedom due to the Son who shed His blood in the name of the Father. I celebrate both.

Mitchell Thought;
I owe an apology to the Church; but an even greater confession, I owe to those outside the Church…to the World…to the Un-Churched…to the Lost.
My naive desire for the approval of the Church leadership had split my faith between obedience to a “New Law” and submission to the Furious Grace of God.
In this New Law...
1. I became preoccupied with outward correctness.
2. I found it less difficult to justify my faults in hiding them.
3. I felt empowered by God in my own self-righteousness, seeing others' sins I thought were greater.

Jason Thought;
I love Derek Webb. He is completely uncompromising. He has a video for his song "A New Law". Watch it HERE. Read the lyrics HERE. Now, read them again. Now go cry, pray, scream, rejoice or whatever else you need to do.

Mitchell thought;
I do not pretend to know the whole mystery of God, as it is not fully known to anyone, but I must give as I am given. So, as I understand it...
In the beginning was God, the Father, the Son, and the Spirit shared by Them, named Holy, and God created the Heavens and the Earth.Before the creation of man, our galaxy was chaotic and dark, while the soil of the Earth was shaped beneath the waters.
In Heaven, the Father, and the Son conferred with their Spirit, in secret from all other Heavenly hosts; even from the one given responsibility for that span of the Universe where our galaxy resides at least; quite possibly given charge of our whole reality; he who was the Anointed Cherub that Covereth, the Most Beautiful, the Arch Angel, the Son of the Morning Star…the one named Lucifer. In this hidden meeting, the Father told the Son of His Plan for the creation of man. He said, “This creation will be treasured and loved above all of the Heavenly hosts. We will love it even more than Ourselves.
